Top 5 Favorite Posts | Celebrating 5 Years of Blogging

You. Guys. I can’t believe I am celebrating five years of blogging today! Five years ago today, just after Thanksgiving, I sat in my room, blogged my little heart out, and nervously pushed ‘publish’ in my new blog (then called Dear Sister - for my OG readers, remember when I used to end each post with “Love you, sis”?). I can’t believe how quickly time has flown, and how different I am from the young woman I was back then. So I thought it would be fun to travel down memory lane and share my five favorite blog posts of all time that I’ve published here on this space (in no particular order). Maybe some of these are your favorites too!

Sharing our baby journey. This was probably my most vulnerable post I’ve ever written. Although I was nervous to share, it knew it was important for me, for the family struggling to get pregnant, and for God to get the glory. At the end of the day, I’m grateful for our story.

Explaining why I’m not “too smart” to be a stay at home mom. Y’all, I wrote this post almost two years before Eli was born. We were trying for a baby around this time, and this is when the Lord started planting the seed of desire for me to stay home with my babies. Prior to this, I was a career-driven lady who never even entertained the thought of staying home with my kiddos. Even with me working from home now as a virtual assistant and having my own business, people still think I’m way “too smart” and wasting my college degree by choosing to stay home with Eli. But I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Toby’s and my dating story. Although this was a two-part story, the second half shows just how far we’ve come and just how much Jesus changed our hearts. There are many days where I am discouraged about how far we have to go, but having this reminder that we are so far from where we used to be is so encouraging! I also love this post because in some parts of the Christian culture, the new Cinderella story is two people on fire for God start a magical courtship that leads to a magical wedding and marriage. No problem with that, and definitely no shade. It just wasn’t our story. I wanted to let people know that God can redeem even the messiest of relationships if He chooses.

Writing about our apartment warming. That season of life was pretty fun. We were newlyweds, had just gotten our apartment, and felt very “grown up,” ha! This is also the time I was really into blogging and feeling like a true blogger with making sure to take pictures and participate in linkups.

Sharing that we were expecting. Of course this would be one of my favorites! Many of y’all have been there and have prayed for us since I’ve shared about our miscarriage, and so many of y’all celebrated with us when I announced that our little rainbow baby was on the way!

So much has changed, and so many of you have been there from the beginning to see the growth, the struggles, the wins and the losses. I’m so so grateful for every single person who has read, commented on and shared my posts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I know blogging isn’t as popular as it was when I first started, but I don’t see me quitting anytime soon. So here’s to five (and more!) years sharing my heart with y’all!

Love you, sis! ;) (I couldn’t help myself! Ha!)
