Catching Up

Ya'll. I have not blogged in

NINE

days (as I am sure you have noticed).

*sad face*

I don't want to throw a bunch of excuses at you all, but these nine days have been... I don't even know the word to use. Busy? Crazy?  Yet, I can't think of anything that has made it crazy besides the usual coursework that comes with being a college senior. Anyway, let me catch you ladies up:

School was long and nearly succeeded in making my head explode between homework, group projects, and wacky professors. On Monday, my younger sister and I decided that Toby and I would spend the weekend with her at her school in Augusta.

We made the two hour journey on Friday and came back Saturday night (more like SUPER early Sunday morning) as Toby found out at the last minute he had to be at work in the morning. My sister is a freshman, so she and her roommates definitely made me feel old! Ha! It definitely brought back many fun memories of my first year in college, though. I really did and enjoy myself. So much so that I forgot to take any pics (I KNOW!). The weekend was definitely too short and I already miss my sister, but I promised my sister that I would visit her monthly from here on out.

Oh, I wanted to mention a book I began reading called

Preparing to be a Help Meet

by Debi Pearl

. One of my friends let me borrow it, and let me tell you: I looove it! The book is obviously about what the title implies: preparing to be a help meet. For those who don't really know what a help meet it, it basically means the wife taking on the role that she was created for in marriage, which is to help her husband. Debi Pearl definitely explains and elaborates much better than I can. This book is definitely helpful because Toby and I are in a courtship that is headed toward marriage. Though we are not engaged or married, it definitely does not hurt to learn how to be the wife God created me to be. I think the book, and books like

Preparing to be a Help Meet

, are not just for those in a relationship either. Single ladies can definitely benefit from learning how to be a Proverbs 31 woman

*raised fist*

so that when the time comes, they are prepared for marriage and their roles as wives. I'm pretty sure I will add tidbits of what I am learning in posts to come, so be on the lookout for that!

Finally, I am sure you guys have noticed the new layout. You like? I am still tinkering with the designs and the blogging world in general, so just be patient with me! Also, I have decided that I am no longer going to continue with the blog challenge as I SUCK at it! The more I fail to post, the more disappointed in myself I feel. Maybe I'll pick up another blog challenge in the future (hopefully one with some accountability!). I'll still post quite a bit, but just not daily. :)

Oh, and finally finally, I realize that I haven't posted on Friday for the People Bondage Miniseries. My apologies, ladies! Between travelling and hanging out with my sister (which included cooking dinner for ten people, by the way

*side eye*

), I completely forgot about it until around 11 that night, and I didn't want to rush and put a post up, just to put one up considering the topic. However, this Friday is supposed to be the last post of the series, so I will post twice that day with two different topics.

Love you, sis!
